Play up:  Every year many parents inquire about players playing up an age bracket.  There are four considerations:

1) soccer expertise - technical ability

2) physical strength, size and speed

3) tactical awareness and knowledge of the game

4) emotional maturity

Some have the perception that playing up leads to better development for that player, but for the overwhelming majority of players, the opposite is true.  Staying age appropriate leads to the best player development.  We do not consider play up as a parental ‘request’, but when the tryout trainers indentify a player that ranks in the top third of the play up age bracket, a conversation with the family will occur to see if the player should or should not play up.

Danbury Youth Soccer Club was founded in 1977 and is one of the leading Soccer Clubs in the State.  We have a rich history and each year register about 1,500 players in our programs.  We field a total of 20 travel and premier teams each year.
